It was only the men’s free skate and the gala exhibition left. I still couldn’t believe our Four Continents Championship journey was coming to an end. The last four days have been some of the most memorable experiences of my life. It was the first real trip I had with some of my closest friends and I got to watch (and meet) some of my favorite skaters. Unfortunately, all good things have to end.
Day 3 of the competition was the pairs free skate and the ladies free skate. We skipped pairs in favor of brunch and sight-seeing with our friends. I will post our meeting with the one and only Chiang Kai Shek in another entry. LOL.
Spoiler alert: one of our favorite pair teams Wenjing Sui/Cong Han (CHN) won despite a few mistakes. We’d also like to congratulate one of our other favorite pair teams Tarah Kayne/Daniel O’Shea (USA) for finishing in fourth place.
After sight-seeing, we went to the Taipei Arena a little earlier because we planned to meet Michael. Unfortunately, Michael messaged us just as we were on the train, informing us he couldn’t meet us because he wasn’t feeling well. This was also when we found out that several members both of Team USA and Team Canada were sick that week. Bea and I had coffee and tea inside the arena, then saw the really long lines for the ladies’ free skate. Even some Korean fans who I kind of started talking to on Twitter were panicking, but Bea and I didn’t have any qualms because we were at a decent area.
